Doing My Bit

Link to Craig's own site

This is a bit of a personal page for me, People always ask
"why do you spend so much time doing your bit & raise so much money for charity, especially the cancer charites".

Well the answer is simple, my Grandfather died of Lung Cancer when I was 12, My Auntie died of Bowel Cancer a few years ago and my Mother has had cancer and has survived and she had a really rough time of it, and still is. I've also lost so many friends to the disease that it is quite upsetting, so that is my reason for doing my bit, but to be honest I really enjoy the events and the outcome of all my hard work.

But on the 14th July 2005 my whole life turned upside down when I was addmitted into hospital and later diagnosed with Lymphoma and Liver cancer.

Rather than reading a load of Blog, you can download my diary of events and have a read. By the way I'm in remission now and back to my old self of raising money.

Charities that I regularly raise money for:

The Annette Fox Leukemia Research Fund
Cancer Research UK
The Royal British Legion
Cleeves & Whitehead Trust
The Grand Charity

Cabaret Evening

The Prince of Wales Hospice held their very own Cabaret Evening on Saturday 14th April at Castleford Civic Centre, compered by Craig Kidd.

Emmerdale's Dominic Brunt (Paddy Kirk) welcomed guests to the evening's event by walking around the table having his photograph taken and signing autographs.

The night was jam packed from start to finish with a wide range of magic from Mike Stuart.

Hilarious comedy then followed from Charlie Hale, who also carried out an auction with some great sporting memorabilia prizes, which helped raise the hospice even more money on the night.

The night finished off with Live Music from Beatles Tribute Band - "With the Beatles" from Birmingham, who took the audience for a trip down memory lane. The guests were out of their seats dancing away to all the old favourites.

The evening was a huge success bringing in around £2000 for The Prince of Wales Hospice.

Paddy Kirk, with Tina and Thomas - Craig's wife and son
