Flyball

If you've never come across flyball before, this video should explain it for you.

[If the playing is jerky, or stops, allow a little while for it to fully load before you play it - best on Broadband]

Flyball is a dog sport which involves a surprisingly large number of dogs from Kellington. In July, 2003, eleven Kellington dogs spent a week holidaying on the island of Anglesey, representing 3 different local teams, together with around 350 other dogs from all over the country. A wonderful time was had by all, despite the rain. There are currently 3 local teams drawing dogs from Kellington, as there are now so many photos they each now have their own page so that they load quickly.

Kellington's Flyball Tournaments, held at Drax Power Station Social Club

As the 2005 outdoor season came to a close, the local teams all enjoyed a wonderful weekend at Drax Power Station Social Club, taking part in the first ever tournament organised by the Kellington Power Racers, along with teams from all over the North of England. [Actually, the Kellington team all worked so hard, that they might take a day or two to realise how much they enjoyed it!]

The venue was excellent, the spirit amongst those taking part was excellent and the organisation of the event was superb - congratulations to Roger and Sue Talbot and the rest of the team, it was definitely one of the best tournaments of the year, and we're all looking forward to the 3 day event planned at Drax on August Bank Holiday next year.

2006

Unfortunately, the 2006 Flyball Tournament held by Kellington Flyball Club had to be moved at the last minute to the Royal Oak at Hirst Courtney, as a large protest was taking place at the Drax Power Station. The tournament was very successful, if cramped, and reports and photos can be seen on the Kellington Flyball Club's own pages

It was also a 1st tournament for Mike Glew, who has joined Kellington Power Racers.
