EGGBOROUGH POWER STATION CRICKET CLUB

Although matches are not played in Kellington, many of the playing and non-playing members of the cricket club reside in the village and as such this club is regarded as the “local cricket team.”

Playing in the Pontefract and District Cricket League Eggborough had an extremely successful 2004 season. The club finished as leaders of the division 6 league table and were subsequently promoted into the fifth division for the coming season's competition.

With the season fast approaching everyone at the club are geared up to emulate last season's successful table topping performance and gain promotion into next season's division four of the Pontefract and District Cricket League. However, the club are always on the lookout for new players, and anyone interested in playing for the club can attend one of the training sessions which are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings or by email to recruiting@eggboroughpscc.co.uk

The club are entering a team in the Thursday League competition. This team will offer secondary school pupils the opportunity of playing competitive cricket whilst being offered coaching hints by experienced players. It is, however, an open age team and once again anyone interested in playing in this newly formed team can contact the Chairman for further details.

Kellington are you aware that you have World Record holders in your village ?

You have your local cricket team which contains many Kellington lads. They played Normanton two seasons ago and bowled them out for 6 (yes, six!) runs, which is a world record. Colin Tyson & Des Wilson took the wickets.
Any one interested in joining the team come and join the world's best (only joking Whitley!)
