Tops Bar & Restaurant at Kellington Manor
With
Summer nearly over and Christmas just around the corner
the staff at Kellington Manor have been busy pulling together
their offering for Parties and Christmas Day. Bookings
have been flooding in so you you'll need to be qick to
ensure you get the dates you want. Menus and booking forms
can be found on the homepage at kellingtonmanor.com.

You'll
have noticed the already building pile of timber in the
field adjoining the church - this is the start of what
should be a really big bonfire which will acompany the
two planned firewrk displays on Sunday 5th November. The
first will start around 6.30pm with a break for food at
7pm. The second should start around 8.30pm and will be
followed by a karaoke evening. We'll have buckets dotted
around to colect coins for 2 local charities so put the
date in your diaries now.

Sunday
lunches continue to prove popular with bookngs essential
to ensure you don' miss out, also popular are our Senor
Citizens menus at lunchtimes midweek and our Tuesday evening
Fish Night again for Senior Citizens. The conservatory
is available for all types of functions and no hire charge
is levied.

Being
the only freehouse for many a mile Kellington Manor continues
to offer a wide selection of drinks at very reasonable
prices, something carried forward to our food menu. The
surroundings are quiet and peaceful and our staff are
pleasant and attentive - we welcome every customer new
and old and promise you a quality product.

The
Red Lion has a new landlord - Bill Douglas
A
former Deputy Manager of the Sergeant Pepper Pub, a busy 60s/70s/80s/
bar in Newcastle, Bill has recently taken over the Red Lion.
He is a fanatical Toon fan, much to the disgust of his Leeds
United customers.
An
ex chef, Bill is single, but states that he is open to any offers
from ladies under 42!
We
wish him every success in his attempt to bring the Red Lion
back to its former glories.
|
| The
York Range in the photo below has not been in constant use throughout
the Red Lion's history. The pub was extended into the 2 adjoining
cottages in the 1970s, but it was not until Sean Dooley became
landlord [late 70s or early 80s] that the range was actually used
to heat that area of the pub. |

Another
pub, the Plough Inn used to stand opposite the Red Lion, but
has now been demolished. A small estate, Plough Garth, has
been built in its place.

An
example of Mark's skills can be seen at 31 Eastfield Lane. Mrs
Vandervlugt's front garden was skillfully transformed in a matter
of days without fuss or worry. Both Joan and her son Peter are
highly delighted with the workmanship and the reasonable cost
of the whole project. The following pictures record the the
work in process and the end product.
