On July 14th, Stan, Carole and Robbie travelled to Asfordby, near Melton Mowbray to take part in the July EMDACS Agility Show. As you can see, a wonderful venue.

Don't know what Stan's up to, but you can see the view. Between us and the cattle is a public footpath system alongside the river - this was the exercise area.

We made a garden all round both vans and awnings for the dogs , which as we were next to the entrance to the exercise area, not only provided them with space to play, but also lots to look at too. Here's Foster enjoying his "Comfort blanket" - well, he is only a baby!

It was an extremely hot weekend, and the dogs appreciated the paddling pool, especially Holly.

Resting between events, Carole and Stan, with, from left to right, Zippy, Megan, Foster and Holly.

Sometimes it was just too hot outside - with the aid of reflective aluminium coated sheets we managed to keep the temperature in the awning down to reasonable levels.

Robbie with Holly and Zippy - sitting around with a drink was something we spent a lot of time doing!

However, the real business of the weekend was Agility. Carole and Megan wait at the start line.

Zippy just loves tunnels. Both she and Megan were eliminated from the Clockwork Tunnel event, which involved four tunnels + jumps. Each tunnel entrance was adjacent to another tunnels exit - take the wrong entrance and you get the Big E. Still, neither Zippy nor Megan spent quite as much time as a Bernese Mountain dog we spotted just happily going in all the tunnels one after the other and playing in them!

Megan on the A - frame. All 4 of the dogs paws must touch the yellow contact area - Megan is very good at this.

Zippy is not! You can see she can hear me telling her to go down slowly, but did she? No - leapt off the end of the ramp and collected 5 faults in an otherwise clear round.

Megan getting the contact point on the dog walk very nicely.

As is frequently the case, Zippy is way ahead of Robbie, but both Zippy and Megan managed to collect a Clear Round Rosette for jumping, Zippy on the Saturday and Megan on the Sunday. Megan also managed a very respectable Clever Dogs round with a time of 31.28 seconds. Clever dogs is an Agility round which ends with a Flyball run

Megan at the top of the A frame. Both Megan and Zippy managed Agility rounds with only 5 faults during the weekend. Agility rounds include obstacles with contact points, whereas jumping rounds do not
